As small-breed dogs get older, their nutrition needs change. Hill's Science Diet Small & Mini Adult 11+ dry dog food is tailored nutrition to support healthy aging during small & mini dogs’ golden years. The small kibble is specially made with prebiotic fiber to help your little, older dog's digestion, while the omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil promote joint health. This senior dog food uses a balanced set of minerals to support a healthy heart, healthy kidneys, and a healthy bladder in mini breed dogs, while the omega-6s and vitamin E nourish the skin and coat. Since immune health is so vital for older dogs, this pet food made with natural ingredients uses a special blend of antioxidants to promote lifelong health. There’s more to love with the new look of Science Diet. Some of our products also have new names, new kibble shapes & new formulas.

Most dog breeds are considered mature by the time they are 7 years old. If you have a larger breed, you may need to change the way you care for him by the time he's age 5. Giant breeds reach the mature adult stage at age 4. Hill’s Science Diet Large Breed dog food is perfectly balanced for large breed dogs. For medium sized dogs, consider Hill’s Science Diet Adult dog food that is available in a variety of flavors; for small or toy sized dogs, consider Hill’s Science Diet Small & Toy Breed dog food that comes in a variety of flavours, both dry and canned.
Begin the transition by mixing the current food with the new dog food. Gradually decrease the amount of the current dog food while increasing the amount of new dog food. Continue to do this over a 7-day period. Transitioning slowly can result in fewer digestive issues and better acceptance of the new dog food.
For dogs who are finicky, older, or have health conditions, the transition time could take 10 days or slightly longer.
